Ceramic Tables
Description
I have been producing the ceramic tables for around 26 years. The tops are made from earthenware clay which I hand paint then bisque and glaze fire. I can use either satin or gloss glaze as a finish. They are suitable for outdoor use as the glaze renders them waterproof and fade proof. Occasionally they will develop some gentle crazing which does not affect their integrity. It is usually as a result of expansion and contraction due to temperature changes.
Once the ceramic top has had its final glaze firing in my kiln, we mount it onto a timber pine disc which is lacquered with a timber finish. This is then attached to an iron base handmade by local blacksmith Wayne Wagstaff.
We usually coat the bases with a clear finish to show their natural iron look or can paint them black
